Guardain Village Prayer Request

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

Guardian Village is asking for prayer request on several Issues.

Please pray with us that:
1. Mr. and Mrs. B will have a change of heart In asking GV to leave one of their current facilities.
2. They will not require GV to vacate the building.
3. That GV can locate a wonderful flat or home that the B family will be happy to move into.

also

GV has been looking for a parcel of land for a center where they can drill a well and construct a filtration system that will provide clean, healthy water for their children, women’s shelter, staff families, and the local community. Please pray that:
1. They can make contact with land owners and that we will have their favor and the the resources
necessary to make a reasonable offer to buy their land contiguous to ours and the main road.
2.That the land that is to be theirs will be protected and released into their hands at the right time.

also

On health issues please pray that:
1. The GV family will once again enjoy health and wholeness.
2.The distractions of the Enemy will be stopped
3. Those who have been afflicted will experience complete healing.

I wish I could give more information, but as mentioned earlier, they are in a place where it is better to be anonymous, but your prayers will be heard and understood.

Guardian Village Donation

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

When we travel with Faithware to do festivals and shows, we always keep a box by the cash register where many people drop the change they just received back from their purchases. Some give generously more!  We do give this entire amount to Guardian Village which they use for scholarships for the children.  We did not do as many shows this year for various reasons, we did only 7 last year. But, I thought I would pass on that we did collect $80.53 for 2009 which was all passed on to Guardian Village. They do appreciate it and more than you know! Thank you all!

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
– James 1:27

One of my favorite verses. It is to me, a simple description of what we as Christians should be about. Taking care of others who are in need while setting an example of living in Christ.  Guardian Village is living this verse.

The problem is that there are thousands upon thousands of Nepalese girls who are “exported” by flesh-traders to work in the brothels of India. Many more children are trapped in child labor while others are discarded into the streets to fend for themselves. Improvised families are forced into sacrificing their children out of desperation to support themselves.

Dan and Sheryl started Guardian Village Handicrafts to combat this problem.  They provide business opportunities for the women and families of Nepal. In addition they provide local Community Development programs, vocational training and other life skills. Developing micro-businesses for these families, Guardian Village has enabled the families to become self-supporting. In the meantime, they have rescued the children from forced child labor or worse. The Guardian Village Children’s home cares for over 40 children and provides, love and support and an education in an excellent private school. After their education they can return to the community and help support others, but now returning as nurses, teachers  doctors or engineers.

We at Faithware are continually humbled by the work that they are doing and feel totally blessed to be able to work with this wonderful group of people. They truly hand over their lives in service to do God’s work where it is needed most.
