I Hope This Airs!

Focus on the Family is sponsoring an ad during the Superbowl that will feature Tim Tebow (Florida Gator Quarterback) and his Mother, Pam Tebow. It is a pro life commercial and although the content of the ad has not been released yet the rumor is Pam Tebow will discuss her refusal to take doctor’s advice and abort Tim because of medical complications. The pro choice groups are all over these and are putting petitions together to force the networks to not run the ads. You can read more about it here.

I hope the networks do not cave and will run the ads!

Hope Gospel Mission

Monday, February 9th, 2009

The Hope Gospel Mission in Eau Claire, Wisconsin opened it’s doors in 1998.  In the ten years since, they have helped rescue hundreds of poor and homeless men and women in the Chippewa Valley.  The mission not only supports short term emergency care, but more importantly, long term programs that help residents learn life skills that will help support them once they leave the mission.

The Hope Gospel Mission has built a stable structured routine to help residents break old habits and to teach them how to take care of themselves while learning the Gospel message.  Both “The Ruth House” and The Men’s Shelter are safe, clean, warm places where single women and men can heal and rebuild their lives.  Residents have access to all of the Hope Gospel Mission’s programs which help them overcome their individual problems and teach them tools that will help them prepare for successful independent living.  To do this, they teach and help guide residents in areas such as “work, life skills, personal growth, spiritual and finances.”

The Hope Gospel Mission is a non-profit organization, but it does run several businesses that not only help raise needed funds for the program, but also serve as a training ground that offers residents paying jobs as they work through the Renewed Hope Program. How can you help this incredible organization?  There are at least 10 ways you can help.  Check it out here.

For every Orange & Purple swirl bracelet sold, we will donate $1.50 to support their work with the poor and homeless. Orange is the color for hunger awareness and purple is the color for homeless awareness. You can find them here.
